Under Inflation Excessive wear on the outer parts of the tire tells you your tires are consistently under inflated. There is too much contact with the road by the outer edges of the tires.

Over Inflation Excessive wear at the center of the tread tells you the air pressure in your tires is consistently too high. The tires are riding on the center of the tread and wearing out prematurely.
